a graphic invitation

Here is my nephews first bday party invitation. He has been jumping or kicking since 4 months and my sister-n-law thought it would be most fitting to have a froggy bday! It is a really cute fun theme and I'm sure he will love to look back at it when he is older. Here is the invite I just finished.

a baby nursery

I am doing this baby nursery for the owner of Pickle and Ice Cream. She is having a little boy soon named Maddox and he is gonna have a monkey room. It really is cute! I haven't painted the room yet...that is this Sunday, but I have finished some of the art work going on the walls. The big canvas is getting framed soon...enjoy! I will give an update on the room designs soon with some pics.
sorry it is sideways...it would not turn!

bibbidi bobbidi boo

Long long ago in a far away land....oh, this weekend about 4 miles from our home was Haiden and a good friend of ours little girl named Brinley was a birthday party.

They both turned 3 and are only fives days apart. Her mom and I thought that this year considering our stuff going on that we would have a celebration together. I really didn't and couldn't have a ton of people at our home during this time of year, so Erryn suggested having it at their neighborhood clubhouse. It was alot of last minute work, but I really think they enjoyed it...and that really is what it is all about. It was a Cinderella theme and the girls dressed as Cinderella. When their little guest arrived they did a craft project and made a mouse like in the movie while listening to the movie soundtrack. A bit later we had a surprise guest for the girls...it was CINDERELLA herself and she had gifts for everyone! she had a princess crown and wands for Haiden and Brinley. She then said, "Cinderella can't be a princess without a fairy godmother". And gave them all tutus and wands...the boys were not forgotten and got a fishing pole...ya know somethin' Charming likes to do. They played a ballroom dancing freeze game with Cinderella, then blew out the candles on their cupcakes, got pics, and then opened their enchanting presents. It was as smooth as it could be with having oh...15 or so 3 year old then 5-6 babies and 30 something adults. Phewww!!! Well, my sweet baby girl looked breath taking...of course I'm partial. She LOVED Cinderella a first sight. She would have sat her down and told her everything she could all day if she had a chance. She was a card and would pose for cameras too. We love her so much and are blessed to watch our baby doll grow-up! Enjoy some pics! at the end of the day....................Cinderella (Haiden) found better shoes!

a new favorite thing

Okay...

I am obsessed with surfing this esty site. It is a site with people's "handmade things" on it. And some people blow me away and inspire me so much. They sell it on there and you can find and buy almost anything. Kinda like going to a big Affair of the Heart from people all over the world. I am thinking about opening shop there for others to enjoy and buy if they want. But I wanted to share with you this necklace that is coming soon. I saw it and yelled to Chris...."I HAVE TO HAVE THIS!!!". I have been looking for a necklace or something to signify and finalize our journey. Chris got me a beautiful dainty necklace that I LOVE so much and it is great and now I found one that just tops it off and goes with my other one PERFECT! same finishes and everything.

It is a silver tarnished heart with a gold tarnished band aid on it! In so many ways it symbolizes our journey.

1. Just the fact of Schafer having a mended heart

2. that is what I told haiden Schafer was having done, "Schafer has a booboo on his heart an he has to go to a special doctor, and he is going to put a special band aid on bubba's heart to make it all better"

3. As a mom, after his surgery and we were home...I felt like this chapter was coming to an end and a big weight was lifted. I to received a band aid on my heart that ached and worried.

I probably could find more reasons...those are the ones that hit me first and the hardest. So here is a picture of it...it is also gonna have schafer's name on the back with his surgery "new heart" date! Enjoy!

my baby girl is 3!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAIDEN!!!!!!! Well today is Haiden's birthday...she is three now! I can not believe that. The time has flown by so quickly. She is so lovely and amazing, especially after her last 8 months with all the Schafer heart stuff. It has not only affected us but her too. Her whole little world changed when he was born. Not only gaining a brother but a life of hibernation for a season. God knew what kind of little personality my baby girl needed to stand this. Thank you Lord! Well I really could go on on and on but here are some pictures of her today, and I will post some of her party from this coming up weekend next week! Need to go for now...we are having tornados in FEBRUARY!!!!

mean hungry monster

Here is a thought that is kinda funny, but at the same time not when you are watching what you eat.

Okay...I have been watching my food and portions for almost 3.5 weeks and I have lost between 7-8 lbs.-good...not monumental. But I figure if I keep it steady I will be where I want to be soon. Here's the thing...I have been eating 3 healthy meals and 2 snack type meals, and water. Haiden has been asking me, "what's that, can I have a bite?". So of course as a mommy should I let her try it...then she wants most of it! My measuring of my servings is wrecked...I really don't know what I just ate and what she ate so I feel this sense of greed come over me. I want to say to her, "sweet girl...mommy is soooooo hungry and this is the end of my existence if you eat all my food!" And she has so much other food that I would rather eat anyway. DO you guys know what I am talking about? So I have that greedy monster in me right now or I should say a hesitant monster that does not give with joy to my child, but I do regrettably. Well, the other night i treated myself to one of those 100 calorie microwave popcorn things. Kids are in bed and I am in American Idol chill out mode, all of a sudden Schafer starts stirring and crying and I go to check. I come back and Chris took a big hand full and stuffed it in his mouth with a "I just got caught" look on his face.

I let him have it..............the angry monster took over my body and a stunned look turned to anger, and I said you ate my snack!!!! That is all I get! Why would you sneak that!!! His eyes got big and he said that he forgot about that and he was sorry. He kept saying, "I'll make more and you can have some of mine...sorry". The ugly monster then sunk back to that hesitant monster that said, "that's fine, just please don't eat my food ever again."

The End

new projects...2 down...? to go

Here are two projects I've done recently....

1) these 2 pictures I painted for a friend (Lydia). She has a little boy on the way named Jett. So a vintage plane feel is what she is going for. I hope they bring her and little Jett joy as he grows up to be big and strong and love on his family!

2) These are a series of 3 pictures for a bathroom...kinda a fun whimsical collage of lamps. They are for my mom. She hesitated to ask me cause I really don't do anything for family...it never works out, but she really loved them.
so that is some of my projects and a taste of what is going on before my journey. Enjoy!
